Slaughter Beach, Dog

It’s been quite a journey for Jake Ewald and Slaughter Beach, Dog. It seems like a heartbeat ago (it wasn’t) that we were putting on Jake at the Servant Jazz Quarters in Dalston; a tiny solo acoustic show a year or so after Modern Baseball had (sort of) disbanded at the height of their powers with a cathartic, freewheeling show at Kentish Town Forum.

But here we are, in 2023, and SBD are announcing a show as big and as significant as anything from their MoBo days. I gotta say, as a bystander to all this, I am very stoked about it. It’s a vibe. It’s also a testament to the quality of the catalogue that Slaughter Beach, Dog have built up, and especially the quality of the fourth full-length record “At The Moonbase”, which has been a stealth cult hit, connecting the band with a whole new audience.

As landmark shows go, this very much a… landmark show. So you know, do the thing; book tickets, show up, and tear up / tear it up, whichever you prefer.
