Crafting songs which range from achy-hearted, string-laden confessionals to sleek, chic soundtracks for the small hours, Katy J Pearson is a pop singer-songwriter for the modern catastrophic age. She has bent and stretched her versatile vocal abilities to recent collaborations with the likes of Yard Act, Metronomy, Orlando Weeks and Wet Leg — with whom, amongst other friends, she reinterpreted the score of The Wicker Man, in celebration of the film’s 50th anniversary. Her third solo album, due someday in 2024, shifts decisively towards a sound that is arrow-sharp, streamlined, and directed by Katy’s own steady hand.
