SWX Bristol is located close to Cabot Circus in the centre of Bristol, We are located on Nelson Street which is a short walk from Cabot, If you are travelling by Bus there are many buses available that will take you directly outside the venue. Check Bus times and services here
If you are travelling by Train, the closest station is Temple Meads in Bristol. In a taxi, it will take you roughly 10 minutes to arrive at the venue. Or you could make the journey by walking in 20 minutes.
Is there parking available?
There is no parking at the venue itself, there is on street parking available that is pay and display, or an NCP Car Park is also available.
I left/lost something in the club, what did I do?
If you have lost items or left them in the cloakroom please email the venue directly at email@example.com with a description of the missing item, date of the show, contact details and any other relevant information. The venue will check and if the item can be located will be in contact to arrange for you to collect the item.
The venues keep items for a maximum of 3 months, after this period they are passed to local charity shops. Valuable items may be held for a longer period. Items such as passports and ID’s etc. are handed to the relevant authorities if not collected within the time frame.

Entry to the venue
In accordance with licensing law the venue has the right to refuse admission without providing a reason. Identification will be required for entry to the venue. Please see event details as specific events will have different guidelines and restrictions. You can always call us for further information.
SWX also has the rights to remove people from the venue at any point for any reason. If you are ejected from the venue and would like to dispute the action, please email us and we will investigate the issue.
Part of the condition of entry is that you agree to a search on arrival and leaving the venue.
It’s part of our licence’s conditions so if you refuse to be searched you will not be allowed to enter the club and if you refuse the exit search we will have to detain you and the police will be called.
We may ask you to come for a further search whilst inside the venue, either in response to something that has happened inside the venue or as part of our licensing obligation to randomly search people inside the smoking area. If you refuse one of these searches we have to detain you and the Police will be called.
SWX operates a zero tolerance drugs policy. Anyone found with illegal drugs will be banned from the venue and reported to the police. There will be additional measures on top of our search procedures that may be enacted when you visit SWX, this may include drug detection methods. For your protection and for the protection of our staff, all searches are conducted under full HD CCTV with voice recording.

Is there a cash machine?
Yes we have a cash machine inside Stage 1 as you enter the room.
What is SWX like?
SWX Boasts 3 rooms all with character and style on multiple levels. Stage 1 is our main stage located on the 1st Floor with a capacity of 1050. This wide open room is fully equipped with a £300,000 Sound and Lighting System. We throw in a 4” High stage, pyro technics, lasers and Co2 Cannons… And we have a club night you will not forget. SWX also transforms this stage for Live Shows; the impressive stage has hosted some major names and will continue to do so! See our line up for details. Stage 2 is on floor 2 and has a capacity of 500 with its own bar and sound and lighting system. Stage 3 is also on floor 2 and also has its own sound and lighting! With another bar for refreshments, you will not have to make a journey for a drink!
How do I get tickets?
All advanced tickets should be purchased through one of the recognised outlets used by the venue, more often than not these are SWX Bristol (e-tickets), Bristol Ticket Shop (physical tickets), Skiddle, See Tickets, Gigantic, Ticket Arena, Fatsoma or directly from the promoter. However occasionally events may be sold via other ticketing outlets, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any queries.
Please note you cannot purchase advanced tickets over the phone with the venue unless you are booking a VIP table. However on most occasions when the event is not sold out you will be able to purchase tickets on the door. Please check the event listing for details.
For non-received or lost tickets please contact the outlet that the tickets were booked / purchased through and not the venue directly.
BEWARE OF SECONDARY TICKETING (Touts, facebook, etc). Fraudulent tickets such as cancelled & duplicated tickets can be sold on the secondary ticketing market and will not be accepted on entry. The venue is unable to help with ticketing problems unless tickets are purchased with an authorised ticketing agent.
What if I have an injury?
SWX has many first aid staff and a room dedicated to first aid. Any injury will be looked at by our medically trained security staff and appropriate action to aid you will be taken. Our first aid room is located next to our Cloakroom. Please ask a member of staff for directions if required.

Can I bring a camera?
No professional cameras (with large or detachable lenses), video cameras or tape recorders are permitted in the venue. Should you be found to have these on arrival you will be asked to either take them back to somewhere safe or be asked to deposit them in the cloakroom.
Small compact cameras are allowed unless specified on the day of the show.
For the satisfaction of other customer’s iPads and/or tablet devices are not permitted to photograph or film during any performances. Customers who persist may be asked to leave the venue.
Do you have a cloakroom?
The venue provides a cloakroom and charges £2.00 per items.
If you are bringing a bag bigger than a ladies handbag and items such as bike helmets, backpacks, suitcases etc. with you we request that these are left in the cloakroom.
Please be aware that no items will be given out from the cloakroom without the matching ticket being presented. If you have lost your ticket you will be asked to wait until the end of the event to collect your belongings. If you are in a rush and do not want to wait, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org during the week to arrange a time to come and collect your belongings.
SWX is a multi-floor venue with stairs. At this time, we do not have a disabled access lift. However, we do try everything we can to ensure people can access our shows and attend our events. Please give us a call to discuss options for access.
We do offer one free carers pass per ticket holder, this can be booked directly with the venue. Carer ticket holders should be able to meet the needs and assist the person they are accompanying in the event of an emergency.
What can I wear?
Dress Codes may change depending on the night or event. Please call ahead to discuss this if required.
Can I bring drinks or food in?
No food or beverages should be brought into SWX, these will be removed on search and confiscated. This includes sweets & chewing gum.
Should you require any items for medical reasons please make this known to the security personnel on the front door who will contact the duty manager & medical personnel to discuss this in private.
Please ensure you bring ID to the venue. No ID = No Entry. SWX does not allow entry without ID for security purposes as well as licencing regulations.
Accepted forms of ID are: Drivers License (full or provisional), or a Passport (valid) or Citizenship Card with the PASS hologram and SIA logo. Any ID found to be fraudulent will be confiscated. Under no circumstances will they be returned once confiscated.
All customers who look under the age of 25 will be required to provide ID when purchasing alcohol.
If you are under 18 you are committing a criminal offence if you attempt to buy alcohol and you may be ejected without a refund or held until a responsible adult can come and collect you.
People over the age of 18 found purchasing drinks for those not of legal age will be ejected without a refund.
Only acceptable forms of proof are accepted. These are listed in the ID policy.
SWX takes a zero tolerance policy towards drugs in relation to possession, dealing or using.
In conjunction with Avon and Somerset Police we also provide a drugs amnesty box. The amnesty box is situated at the entrance to the venue, patrons are able to deposit any illegal substances before they enter the searching zone and remain anonymous.
What if I have a problem on the night?
If you have a complaint about the venue or event please speak to a member of security who will try to assist and in turn, if necessary, contact a duty manager immediately during the show to try and resolve the issue.
Complaints after an event should be sent in writing (via email) directly to email@example.com.
Do you have a student discount?
Not from the website, however if you are a Bristol Student, there will be ticket sellers that go to your uni that should be able to give you a great deal!
I have contacted the venue, how long does it take to respond?
We try and respond to all emails and messages the same day, please however allow up to 24 hours for a response.
How loud is it?
Please be aware that there will be high sound levels during shows and patrons may be subject to continuous sound levels that may cause potential damage to hearing. Earplugs are available on the bar should they be required.
The venue operates a neighbour friendly policy when leaving the venue please make as little noise as possible.
Can I leave through the night?
Once you have entered the venue there will be no pass outs and no re-admittance. Should you leave the venue for any reason you will not be readmitted and no refund will be given.
Do you use special effects?
All Shows will contain strobe lighting, smoke and other special effects. Should you have any concerns please contact the venue prior to arrival or speak to a member of staff on the night.
I have medication I need to bring?
We discourage bringing medication to the venue; however we do understand that for some people this is a necessity. Therefore should a person attend a show with prescription drugs the following applies:
A sealed package of prescribed medication of a small quantity is permitted providing that the persons name is on the label. A prescription for the medication should be brought with you if possible.
Any person with items that are deemed unidentifiable / not in the original packaging or of a large quantity will be asked to speak with the medics on the night who will assess the situation and the items may be removed until after the show and held in the medical room where they can be accessed if required.
Please be aware that security or the medic may request evidence on entry. You may also be requested to speak with the duty manager.
A person who intends to bring into a venue medical sharps will be asked to discuss their usage with the duty manager & the venue medical staff, in a private area, to ensure that their condition requires immediate access to these items and to also ensure the customer is aware of how to locate and access an area whereby they can administer the required treatment without any concern.
Is there any seating?
There is limited unreserved seating at SWX for club nights. Depending on the event, seating may be available. Please contact us in advance to discuss the event you will be attending if the information is not already in the show description.
What time does it open?
FRIDAY – Far Fetched 11:00pm
SATURDAY – CODEC 10:30pm
Door opening times vary for other shows so please check the website for updates, show times will also be printed on the tickets. Set times will be listed on the venues social networking pages as and when they are known to the venue. Normally these are unknown until the day of the show, so they are often not released.

How do I get a job working for SWX?

In line with the law, SWX Bristol is a non-smoking venue. Smoking is not permitted in any area of the venue. A smoking area will be provided on all events. The location can change depending on the event and capacity but will be clearly signed throughout the venue. Alternatively, speak to a member of staff. The smoking area will generally be open shortly after the event opens until shortly before the event finishes. Those found to be smoking inside the venue will be ejected without a refund.
